Biannual School Musical Production

Every child at Branston is given the opportunity to audition for our musical production. Students also make up the stage crew, sound & lighting technicians, and assist in making sets and props. This is a huge undertaking involving every staff member at Branston Intermediate. There are three performances which enables family and friends to attend. Over the last seven years, we have had more than 100 Branston students involved in our musical production.

Jump Jam Team

Jump Jam is very popular at Branston, and all children are given the opportunity to learn the routines. We also have a Jump Jam team who perform in many of the same events as the choir and the Kapahaka group. When we first entered the Jump jam competition, we came second, losing first place by half a point.

Talent Quest

This is where the children can create their own performance using any of the genres in performing arts. We have cash prizes, and the winner performs at our Branston Showcase.

Senior Citizens Afternoon

Every year in Term 4 we invite the elderly people in our community to an afternoon of performances and a good old sing-along. Often people come from the local homes for the elderly, but we also get many of our community grandparents. Each person is given a buttonhole, a hot drink, and cake or biscuits. It is a very rewarding afternoon for the guests, the performers, and the class hosting the afternoon.

Branston Showcase

This is normally held in Term 4, and is a chance for us to show off our many talented students. Entry is by a gold coin donation per family, and this goes towards resources for teaching the performing arts. There is a huge variety of performances, showing that we have some very talented students at Branston with great potential in their futures.
